• Avery Laser Labels are named after company founder R. Stanton Avery. In 1935, Stan Avery founded Kum-Kleen Products, making self-adhesive labels using machinery he had developed from an old washing machine motor and sewing machine. Avery renamed his company Avery Adhesives, which incorporated in 1946 and became the Avery Adhesive Label Corporation, with 80 percent of its sales stemming from industrial labels sold to manufacturers to label their own products.
